In an exciting step towards promoting health equity, Cities for Better Health and global partner BYCS have teamed up to bring the Cycle for Better Health initiative to Bratislava, Slovakia.

Cycle for Better Health kicks off in Bratislava

In December, Cycle for Better Health, a Cities for Better Health initiative, was launched in Bratislava. Hands-on workshops were held to introduce city youth to cycling skills and bike repair. Local cycling champion Tomas Peciar, Bicycle Mayor of Bratislava, and local organisations Cyklokoalícia, Ulitá and Cyklokuchyňa helped organise and activate the workshops.

The local partners are working to reach and inspire more children in the Slovak capital to embrace cycling as a path to better health and brighter futures.

Watch the activities get underway in Bratislava

Cycle for Better Health is a multi-year partnership between BYCS and Cities for Better Health to grow the reach of urban cycling and increase daily physical activity by making cycling more accessible. Bratislava is the second city to follow after the launch in Bogotá and with Italy soon to follow, Cycling for Better Health will continue the mission to transform communities through the power of cycling.
