Leading up to the United Nations Food System Summit, a virtual roundtable focused on Healthy Food Landscapes was held. The roundtable showcased the vital importance of using citizen-centric data in urban planning to increase access to healthy and sustainable food, lowering carbon emissions and improving health.

Inspiring interventions from Cities Changing Diabetes partners in Bogotá and Houston were presented as part of the programme. The meeting was organised by the Permanent Mission of Denmark to the UN, the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the UN, Gehl and Novo Nordisk.

You can now watch the recording and learn from several experts within urban planning, food, carbon and health. You can hear their reflections on how community-based action on food can improve food security, environment and health at the same time by changing to an accessible healthy and sustainable diet.

The roundtable is a good source of inspiration and ideas on how you can take action on food as an integrated part of urban planning and policy development by using food as a lever to improve health and climate.
